Subscription Agriculture?
Subscription Agriculture (SAG) has some similarities to the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model of purchasing farm products directly from farmers on a regular basis. However, with chicken, duck, eggs and pork, the CSA model doesn’t really work (plus Pat and Nancy are both over 50, so we thought SAG was appropriate!). So our two levels of subscription are Family Members and Friends.
We also sell directly to the public outside of Maple View Farm Country Store on Dairyland Road, Hillsborough at specified times > .

For a $50 annual membership fee, Family Members get first dibs on the quantity and cuts of chicken and pork they prefer. When processing our chickens and pigs, we will fill our Family Members’ orders first, and custom-package their orders accordingly. They’ll pay the same cost as our other customers, based on the weight and cut of the meat they order, but we’ll make special arrangements to assure they get their orders as conveniently and quickly as possible. When our Family Members are out of town, we will deliver orders to their freezer or refrigerators.

For added convenience, Family Members will be issued pre-paid debit accounts. ($100 is the suggested start-up amount.) You give us a check to start your account and with each order, we’ll automatically debit your account and keep a running tally. When your account runs low, we’ll let you know. You can add to your balance in $25 increments.

Family Membership is a tangible way to provide strong support of local, sustainable agriculture and to participate first hand in a Family Farm. Family Members will be invited to Farm Workdays and Farm events. Family Members can also come to our farm and get as much horse & chicken manure as they care to scoop. Only a limited number of Family Memberships will be available. We’re offering them to former Family Members first, then on a first-come, first served basis.
